This was a super sweet older brothers best friend romance novel. It was so much more then that but that was one of the main catalysts in this story and the author did a good job with it. Seth and Lexie. I loved the communication that they had. They had this way of opening up to wash other and I have to say that it was one of my favorite parts of the whole story. Add in passion that they held for each other, great secondary characters, the book was for he most part a winner. I do feel like some things didn’t give me enough closure and that the ending felt really rushed, but other then that I really enjoyed it. Personally, I also wish it would have been in duel POV so we could see what Seth was feeling but that didn’t really affect my enjoyment of the back. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Racing Outside the Line A Love Story at 190 mph Kimberly Montague Books Reviews

I have very mixed feelings about this book. While at times I was very into the book and did not want to put it down, there were times when I wanted to smack the crap outta the heroine.
She can be very annoying and immature. She is down right unlikeable at times. I want to like the person I am reading about. I will probably read the next one about Des and Chelsea, because Chelsea was a strong, outspoken character in this book. I only hope the author does not make her whiny and suicidal like the female lead in this book.
Incredible Love Story! Any fans for Beautiful Disaster should jump on a board for this truly amazing romance. I was so completely overwhelmed by this story, and was hopelessly captivated from the start. This is one of those loves that you would lay down and die for. Seth and Alexis are amazing characters, and perfectly matched to offer a romance that is perfect in every possible way imaginable. Kimberly Montague starts off with a sucker punch that will knock you off your feet. She quickly follows this up by building such an incredible and life long romance that will overcome you as the story progresses. Racing Outside the Line is solely based on this romance; everything gravitates around Seth and Alexis, and their life long powerful and romantic story. This is a BOOKWHISPERER RECOMMENDATION, and a new addition to BOOKWHISPERER FAVORITES.
Kimberly Montague's book is a solid start to a new racing series. Lexi and Seth are the main focus of this story and it is a sweet love story. Lexi has loved Seth since she was a child tagging along with him and her brother and of course he didn't acknowledge her as anything other than his kid sister. They spent one night together and when Lexi wakes the next morning Seth is gone with no explanation leaving her seriously depressed and heartbroken. Their story begins again 4 years later after Lexi graduates college and returns home.

I would have liked the love story to have played out a little slower because it felt a bit rushed and the characters didn't feel completely developed to me. Then again, I really want more of their stories and hope will come soon. Recommend.
Amusing and fast-paced for certain, Racing Outside the Line is an enjoyable romance story.

There were times where some typos got in the way of the scene, but they were easily overlooked overall. Another pass over by an editor wouldn't go astray.

I am not a car buff, nor will I ever be, so I was quite happy when Kimberly didn't go into too much detail about the cars and the racing. It was enough to satisfy my interests in the topic, providing enough filler to make the characters real and three dimensional, while not too much so as to cover up the real reason we want to read the story... steamy, sexy Seth! I loved Seth... maybe it was the bad-ass racing boy that got to me?

I will admit, that at times I wanted to smack Lexie... she got a little too frustrating towards the end of the book with all her emotional baggage. Don't get me wrong, I fully understand why she was going through it, but I felt we got to see just a little too much, which made her become a bit annoying at times.

I LOVED Gene! I wish we'd got to see some more of him... perhaps a side story about Gene?

I quite like the cover art, though Seth is better looking than the guy on the cover in my mind )

The sexy side of this story was both sweet/romantic and sexy/steamy. I liked that we got to see both sides of the couple, not just the sweet and gentle side, but the crazy out of control side too.

Thanks for an enjoyable read Kimberly!
I have to start by saying I really liked Kimberly Montague's Accidental Texting. I believe Racing Outside the Lines was her first book but I recommend you don't start with it. I picked it up because I liked Accidental Texting so much and I only finished it out of sheer stubbornness. I found it immature, overwrought, filled with unsafe sex and, oddly, filled with the kind of sex scenes you see on tv - all build up and then the good stuff happens off camera. Finally, the editing was so-so.

Part of what bothered me about this story is that Lexie (h) equated sex with love in their first encounter and she's still doing it despite very mixed messages from Seth (H). Since the rekindling of their relationship happens while he's still engaged, I found her attachment odd - and the lack of references to his fiancee troubling. I'm the first person to admit that romance novels are escapist and inherently unrealistic (in most, not all, cases) but wouldn't a sane woman be more hesitant? It's as if Ms. Montague pulls out the fiancee card when she remembers it instead of weaving it in throughout the story.

I liked the idea of the plot and liked some of the characters but felt the execution could use some refining and editing.
